Xiaomi Redmi K20 Confirms to Feature AMOLED Screen & Seventh Generation Fingerprint Scanner; Redmi 7A, K20, K20 Pro Passes 3C Certification

We do have a piece of exciting news in store for you about the Redmi K 20! The handset which is touted to launch on May 28 would feature seventh-generation screen fingerprints.

Yesterday, a new Xiaomi device received 3C certification; the device appeared in three different models; M1903F11A, M1903F11C, and M1903F11T furnished with 18W and high with 27W fast charge support. Going by the certification specs, we speculate the device could be the Redmi K20.

The smartphone bearing model numbers, M1903C3EE, M1903C3ET, M1903C3EC belongs to the entry-level Redmi 7A. The other model numbers M1903F11A, M1903F11C, M1903F11T, correspond to Redmi K20 Pro handset. Further, the EC listing indicates that the handset would be launched with MDY-10-EH charger which supports 27W fast charging. As far as the processor is concerned, the Redmi K20 pro may be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor. Further, there are speculations that Redmi K20 Pro may debut outside China as Poco F2. The features are expected to be the same as Redmi K20.

Both Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro would be available in three color options; Carbon fiber, blue and Red. Also, it is speculated that both K20 and K20 pro would be available in various RAM and storage variants that include 6GB RAM +64GB storage, 6GB RAM +128GB storage, 8GB RAM +128GB storage and 8GB RAM +256GB storage.

Lu Weibing, through his official Weibo post, revealed additional details of Redmi K20. The device houses standard AMOLED screen and features a 3P lens type optical fingerprint system; a small macro camera is installed under the screen. Further, Redmi seems to have made an upgrade to the hardware concerning the fingerprint sensor for optimal performance.

The Chinese smartphone maker has upgraded the photosensitive area by as much as 100% when compared to the earlier version. After the upgrade, the photosensitive area now features 7.2μm ultra-large pixels. Further, Redmi also increased the photosensitive area by 15% for better capture of fingerprint optical signal. The hardware upgrade combined with the DSP algorithm software upgrade, the unlock speed of the Redmi K20 increases by 10%. With the new upgrade, the success rate of fingerprint unlock is increased by as much as 30% and ensures optimal performance under low temperature, dry fingers, and intense light.
