Xiaomi will launch the new Mi Watch on November 5 in China which will run Snapdragon Wear OS. The smartwatch will also be the first wearable from Xiaomi to sport the Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor. Going by renders shared officially, it looks like Xiaomi has taken clues from Apple in designing the smartwatch. Now, the Mi Watch shines in full glory in an official video shared by Qu Heng who is the General Manager of Xiaomi Ecological Chain. The video did reveal several features related to design and software ahead of the launch.
Xiaomi Mi Watch Will Run ‘MIUI For Watch’
For the first time, Xiaomi has customized its MIUI for the smartwatches and made the new Mi Watch run the ‘MIUI For Watch’. The UI will still be based on the Android Wear OS developed by Google.
Mi Watch Will Run a Plethora of Apps
As seen in the video, the Mi Watch has a launcher just like the Android smartphones where users can browse all the list of apps in one place. There are apps for calls, contacts, messages, alarm, clock, torch, Mi Store, calender, Mi Fit, Vibrato, Alipay, and WeChat. Qu Heng says that it is a smartphone in the form of a watch. The display should be an OLED with a touch screen capability. Users can scroll the screen using the digital crown or by touching the display.
According to the previous announcements made by Xiaomi, the Mi Watch will be equipped by Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and run Android Wear operating system. The smart wearable from Xiaomi will also feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, internet and calling using the eSIM card facility.
