Xiaomi is all set to launch Black Shark 2 in India; to be sold via Flipkart exclusively

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has been launched in China a while ago and now, the company is all set to bring the gaming-centric smartphone in India. It has confirmed that the device will be launched on May 27th in India and ahead of that, Flipkart has shared a teaser for its latest Flipkart Edge program, which indicates that the device will be available via its e-commerce platform in the country. Based on the ad shared by Flipkart on Instagram, it has a list of the companies that are likely to bring their respective devices for sale. The post was tagged with #UpYourGame. Apart from Black Shark 2, it listed Samsung, Oppo, Asus, Google, Honor, Poco by Xiaomi, Meizu, etc.

The teaser clearly shows that the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 will go on sale on the date mentioned above and also flashed its look, which reveals that it adopts a different design pattern than its predecessors. It does not feature a super-thin bezel like any other smartphone these days, but needless to mention that it has a thinner bezel display than its previous models. The display further gets a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, enhanced by the aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display will restore true color to the screen, which the company calls TrueView display. It also gets a Magic Press pressure-sensing, a technology that will enable pressure-sensitive customization on display.

With the true gaming-centric configuration, the device is built on Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming to deliver an advanced gaming experience. There is a Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology that efficiently deals with the heat-generating parts of the device. It would be available in 6GB RAM/128GB, 8GB RAM/128GB, 8GB RAM/256GB, and 12GB RAM/256GB configuration. However, it is not yet confirmed which of these variants will make it to the Indian market.

As for the camera of the device, it features a 48MP f/1.75 0.8μm main lens paired with a 12MP sensor having f/2.2 telephoto and 2x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 20MP aperture with a 0.9μm f/2.0 sensor coupled to a 5P lens. The smartphone is powered by a whopping 4,000mAh battery, which is combined with a 27W fast charging technology. Among the other features, it has an in-display fingerprint scanner and a set of connectivity options.

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the price of the device in India, but it was released with a minimum price-tag of CNY 3,199 (approx. Rs 32,300) for the 6GB RAM/128GB and CNY 4,199 (approx. Rs 42,400) for the 12GB/256GB in China. Other variants fall in between this price segment.
