Xiaomi confirmed it is working on the 100W flash charging technology called Super Charge Turbo. The company already released a video detailing the speed of charge it delivers on a 4000mAh battery. We already knew that it just takes 17 mins to fully charge a 4000mAh battery. Today, at the Xioami Developers Conference, the company announced more details of the 100W charger which gives us a more clearer look at the technology.
The Mi 100W Super Charge Turbo includes a high-voltage charge pump, 9-fold charge protection (of which (7-fold protection for the motherboard, 2-fold protection for the battery), an independent MCU which helps in reducing Deadlock and for secure charging. The 100W charger also comes with wired plus wireless convergence architecture, which also helps in switching between the two modes and an MTW battery structure which offers lower internal resistance, lower temperature, and faster-charging rate.
The Super Charge Turbo uses the ultra-secure protection software and hardware technology and a private encryption key design.
It is not clear yet as in which Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone will use this fast charge technology. But we can expect it to debut with Mi MIX 4 or Redmi K30 Pro. We already knew that Vivo is also working on the 120W fast charging technology.
