Vodafone Idea Partners with Kia Motors for UVO Connected Car Services


India Telecom operator Vodafone Idea has partnered with South Korean automaker Kia motors to offer IoT solutions and other services in Kia’s SUV Seltos. As part of the partnership, Vodafone Idea would provide IoT solutions in navigation, vehicle management, safety and security, remote control, and convenience. With this partnership, the telco would help Kia motors establish a strong network of connected solutions in the Indian market. The mid-SUV Kia Seltos is equipped with a range of World First features that ensure a safer and stress-free driving experience. 

Vodafone Idea and Kia Motors Partnership to Enable Advanced Car Functionality in Kia Seltos

The partnership enables Kia motors to deploy a strong, connected solution by the integration of eSIMS with Voice, SMS, 3G/4G data, Secured APN service, and API integration. Kia Seltos feature UVO connected car technology that offers as many as 37 smart features such as AI voice command, auto collision notification, vehicle tracking, and immobilization, SOS emergency assistance, remote operated air purifier, remote engine stop and start, speed and valet information, in-car air quality monitor and more.

Also, the IoT solutions would enable Kia motors to geolocate its vehicles, enable real-time exchange of power and data and a whole range of telematics enabled car connected services to its customers.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Kia Motors India Vice President and Head – Sales and Marketing Head Mahesh bhatt opined that the new partnership would ensure seamless connectivity experience in the Seltos. Business officer of Vodafone India, Nick Gliddon commented that the end to end IoT solutions offered by Vodafone Idea makes connected cars a reality for Kia motors in India.
