Vivo, the Chinese smartphone company, today officially announced that it will launch the Vivo Z5 on July 31 in Beijing. Along with the launch date, the company also shared a teaser image, which tips a few key features of the upcoming device. According to the teaser, the Vivo Z5 will sport a triple rear camera setup and heat dissipation system. Such a system for heat dissipation suggests that the smartphone is a gaming-centric just like the Vivo Z1 Pro that was launched in India. Vivo has released the official camera sample of the device.
Earlier reports suggest that the Vivo Z5 relates to the V1921A model number that appeared on TENAA. The certification revealed full specs of the device along with the renders. According to TENAA, the device sports a 6.38-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2340×1080. The triple cameras are placed vertically at the top left corner of the smartphone. The device measures 159.53 × 75.23 × 8.13mm, and the weighs 189.6g. The mobile runs a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor (according to Geekebench) and comes in three storage variants – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Powered by a 4420mAh battery, the mobile runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. The Geekbench listing also reveals the smartphone will have an 8GB RAM variant.
The Vivo Z5 will launch on July 31 in China. As for the pricing, the mobile could sell at a starting price of around CNY 1600 in China, which translates to Rs 16500 in India.
