Vivo Y91 and Vivo Y91i get a price drop of up to Rs. 1,000 in India

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, has been serving as one of the leading brands in the market over the years. This year, in January, it has launched Vivo Y91 and Y91i in India. The smartphones were released with the price-tag of Rs 10,990 and Rs 7,990 respectively, and recently, the brand has been reported to drop the price of both of these devices in India by up to Rs 1,000. The new price of the Y91 as of now becomes Rs 8,990. The Vivo Y91i has also received a price drop of Rs 500 and is now available at the price of Rs 7,990. However, this is not the first time that the price of Vivo Y91 has been reduced, there was a reduction of Rs 1,000 for the same model two months ago, and that time its original price was Rs 10,990.

According to the tweet shared by a Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh telecom, the price of Vivo Y91 has been set at Rs 8,990 in the offline stores while Vivo Y91i 32GB sees a new tag of Rs 7,990. It was first launched in the offline store but was also listed on Amazon. The Vivo Y91i was also launched with the 16GB variant, and it has been confirmed that the price of this variant remains the same, which is Rs 7,990. Moreover, this is very unusual that now both the variants of 32GB and 16GB are available at the same price. Apparently, the latest price of both the devices is not reflecting in the online stores, including Amazon, Flipkart or Paytm mall.

The Vivo Y series filled the budget segment of the company and both the smartphones were launched with nearly the same features. The Vivo Y91 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor having PowerVR GE8320 GPU and a 2GB RAM. It has been provided with an internal storage of 32GB and an expansion of up to 256GB. The smartphone features 13MP and 2MP dual primary cameras and an 8MP front lens. It runs on the Android v8.1 (Oreo) OS and has 4,030 mAh Li-ion battery to power the smartphone.

On the other hand, the Vivo Y91i comes with a 6.22-inch LCD bezel-less display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels and a waterdrop notch. It is powered by an octa-core processor and a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. There is PowerVR GE8320 GPU and a 2GB RAM. The device has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front lens. It has been provided with a Li-ion battery capacity of 4,030mAh and comes with two storage variants – 16GB and 32GB. As mentioned earlier, the new price is yet to be reflected in the online stores.
