Vivo S1 to be launched in India on August 7; company starts sending media invites

The Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is all set to launch its new S1 smartphone in India on August 7. Yesterday, the company had posted a teaser of the upcoming smartphone, and now it has started sending media invites for the event. Notably, the company did not mention any specific device but based on earlier reports, it is safe to say it will be the Vivo S1.

The promotional video features the Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan. Vivo S1 is the first smartphone of the Vivo S-series that is going to launch in India. Before this, Vivo had launched the device in Indonesia, which retails with a price tag of 35,99,000 of Indonesian Rupiah that converts to INR 17,726 approx.

Specifications and Features of Vivo S1

In terms of specifications, the smartphone flaunts with a 6.38-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) screen that adopts a waterdrop notch design. An in-display fingerprint sensor is also provided. Powered by MediaTek Helio P65 SoC octa-core processor, the smartphone has been paired with 4GB RAM and runs on Android 9.0 Pie bearing Funtouch OS 9.0 customization out of the box. In terms of optics, it has a triple rear camera setup having a 16MP primary lens with f/1.78 aperture, which is hooked along with an 8MP lens and 2MP sensor. At the front, it gets a 32MP AI-powered selfie camera that has an aperture of f/2.0.

The powerhouse of the Vivo S1 is a 4,500mAh battery and is assisted by a dual-engine Fast Charging technology. As for the connectivity, the dual SIM device supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Mobile Hotspot, and Bluetooth. Besides, there is a micro USB 2.0 port and it does retain the 3.5mm audio jack.
