In the latest move, Reliance Jio has reintroduced its affordable prepaid plans Rs 98 and Rs 149. The move from the Mukesh Ambani-led telco comes in a bid to take on the likes of Airtel and Vodafone Idea. However, both the prepaid packs now ship with lesser data and lower validity as compared to the earlier offering. The Rs 98 prepaid plan now ships with fixed data of 2GB for the entire validity period. Similarly, Rs 149 plan now offers 1GB data per day for 24 days. All the leading telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea have increased their prepaid plan tariffs by as much as 40%. Owing to tremendous losses in the second-quarter results, both Airtel and Vodafone Idea have increased the tariffs of their prepaid plans, and soon Reliance Jio followed suit. Let’s take a look at the benefits offered by both Rs 98 and Rs 149 Jio prepaid plans.
Reliance Jio Rs 98 Prepaid plan: Calling and data benefits
Jio Rs 98 Prepaid plan now bundles a total of 2GB data benefits, 300SMS for the entire validity period of 28 days. The plan also offers unlimited voice calling (Jio to Jio), and for calls made to other networks, the users needed to rely on IUC Talktime plans. The users can recharge with various IUC Talktime plans that start from Rs 10.
Reliance Jio Rs 149 Prepaid plan: Calling and Data benefits
The second Prepaid plan Rs 149 now offers 1GB data per day, 100SMS per day valid for 24 days. Besides the above, the Rs 149 prepaid plan offers unlimited Jio to Jio voice calling, 300 minutes of FUP for calling to other networks. Under the plan, the subscribers also get access to Reliance Jio apps. It is interesting to note that earlier, the same Rs 149 plan offered 1.5GB data benefits per day valid for 28 days.
