Reliance Jio launches Jio Saarthi, a voice-based digital assistant to simplify recharges on My Jio app

Reliance Jio has launched a new voice-based digital assistant dubbed “Jio Saarthi” that resides within the MyJio app. The main motto of Jio Saarthi is to simplify and encourage online digital recharges. It is the first of its king digital initiative launched by the telecom operator to assist customers who struggle to recharge through My Jio app. The Jio calls it as an interactive in-app genie, which would help the users right from selecting the recharge plan till the end of payment completion. The new digital assistant would be available in My Jio app on both Android and iOS stores starting July 27. It is interesting to note that Jio Saarthi would be available only to those who haven’t done digital recharges before.

Although Jio enjoys larger userbase in India, a major chunk of the customers still depend on offline retailers for recharge. Many of them are unaware and still unsure as to how to recharge their Jio number through My Jio app.  With the launch of Jio Saarthi, the company hopes to encourage such customers to do the recharge via My Jio app.

The in-app digital assistant guides the customers through step-by-step Voice-based directions starting from picking their favorite recharge plan till payment process. It even assists users in locating the CVV number of credit/debit cards for digital recharges. Jio Saarthi would initially be available in English and Hindi. Later the telecom giant plans to offer additional 12 regional languages in the coming days.

How to access and use Jio Saarthi?

The voice-based digital assistant, as mentioned earlier, would be Saarthi would be available only to those users who have not performed any digital transaction earlier. It is available to both Android and iOS users starting July 27. Further, Jio Also, the users need to have the latest My Jio app installed on their smartphones.

To enable Jio Saarthi, users must open My Jio app and click on “Recharge” option. The digital assistant appears as a floating icon. Then users need to click on it to follow the voice-based instructions for digital recharge. The Voice assistant then guides the users right from selecting the appropriate plan until the completion of the recharge transaction.
