Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has been on roll over the past few months. The company recently has launched the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro. Manu Kumar Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India, has confirmed that the Redmi K20 series will launch in India very soon. The launch date has not been announced yet, but speculations suggest that the phones will be available in the Indian market around mid-July.
The Chinese microblogging site, Weibo threw light upon a report revealing that Redmi is working on a 64MP camera phone. Looking back at the recent launches, Samsung launched a 64-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Many rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy A70s will use the same sensor. Leakster Ice Universe has also claimed that the new Redmi phone will sport the Samsung 64-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. However, there is no official word from Redmi on the subject.
More reports suggest that the Redmi phone will be the first phone in China to include such a compelling camera. As there are no further details about this mysterious phone, it is hard to guess which model will feature this camera. Redmi might release a new series altogether.
Moreover, it is a gamble to guess if the rollout of this new phone will land in India as well or not. Although the phone might not debut in India, it will eventually make its way down to the subcontinent as Redmi has gained a stronghold in the Smartphone market in India.
