Redmi teases special variant of K20 Pro having Gold back panel ahead of its launch in India

Redmi has been constantly in the news for its K20 Pro, which is all set to debut in India tomorrow. But ahead of its launch, the company took to Twitter to reveal a special version of K20 Pro having a Gold back finish. It is not clear if the special version is the standard model or a premium variant of the same, but based on the teaser, the smartphone does look like a premium product.

Redmi is a well-known brand for offering budget segment devices while not compromising with either features or looks. Now, it took to its India-based Twitter handle to unveil a special gold finish variant stating that the special version will be unveiled tomorrow and is priced at Rs 4.8 lakhs. On the right corner of the back lies the ‘K’ logo bearing diamond-clad. This story does not end there since the Managing Director of Xiaomi India also shared a separate Tweet stating “Launching something OUT OF THE WORLD tomorrow! A very special version worth… Hold-your-breath (Rs.) 4.8 Lakh!”

Further, it can also be said that the launch of Redmi K20 Pro special version could be the company’s gesture to announce its fifth anniversary in the country. To recall, Xiaomi entered the Indian market back in July 2014 with Mi 3.

However, it is still not clear whether the special version of Redmi K20 Pro will be available for sale along with the standard variants or it is just a special edition with limited stock. But we can expect the best from this extensively priced version. As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi is popular in the mid-range and budget smartphones but with the latest offering, which is yet to be launched, Xiaomi will surpass the pricing strategies of companies like Apple and Samsung.

While the specifications of the Redmi K20 Pro special version were not revealed, the standard model comes with 6.39-inch AMOLED Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) panel having 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is claimed to provide a 91.9 percent screen-to-body ratio. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner along with hardware DC Dimming support. In terms of internal hardware, the smartphone will ship with flagship octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 8GB RAM. As for the storage, the device comes with up to 256GB internal memory.

The optic department of Redmi K20 Pro features triple rear camera setup having a 48MP Sony IMX586 as the main camera having an aperture of f/1.75, a 13MP secondary lens that is responsible for wide-angle coverage and an 8MP sensor. At the front, there is a 20MP pop-up lens. The device packs a 4000mAh battery, which also supports 27W Fast Charging technology.
