Redmi Note 8 will Sport Snapdragon 665 SoC, RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition to Debut Alongside Note 8 Series

Update: Redmi has confirmed that the Note 8 device will sport a quad-camera setup at the rear with 48MP sensor being the primary. The teaser image shared on the official Weibo account revealed the Redmi Note 8 in white shade color. The device on the poster also shows the fingerprint sensor on the rear.

Xiaomi’s spin-off brand Redmi has confirmed that it is launching the Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro and an enhanced version of the RedmiBook 14 on August 29 in China. The brand has been teasing its Note 8 Pro model for quite some time now and for the first time, details about the Redmi Note 8 and RedmiBook Enhanced Edition 14 have surfaced.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Details:

According to the Weibo post that was put by Redmi, the Note 8 (standard version) will sport the Snapdragon 665 processor. This could mean that the device will not feature a 64MP sensor as the Snapdragon 665 chipset will only offer support for up to 48MP cameras. The MediaTek Helio G90T SoC, on the other hand, offer support for up to 64MP camera. In short, the Redmi Note 8 may sport a quad-camera setup with a 48MP camera sensor at the rear.

To those unaware, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 665 AIE chipset in April of this year. Built on 11nm process technology, the Snapdragon 665 SoC comes with Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem and Adreno 610 GPU for enhanced performance. The chipset support triple cameras with support for Telephoto, Wide and Ultra-Wide images. The Xiaomi Mi A3 Android One phone and the Realme 5 that were recently launched in India were powered by the same chipset and are priced between Rs 9,999 to Rs 15,999.

RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition to Feature Tenth-gen Intel Core i7 Processor :

Alongside the Note 8 and Note 8 Pro, Redmi is also launching the enhanced version of the RedmiBook 14. Back in May 2019, Redmi launched the RedmiBook 14 notebook with Intel Core i5 and eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processors. Now, the company has announced on the official Weibo account that the new RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition with tenth-generation Intel Core i7 processor is landing in China on the same date.

Redmi Note 8 and RedmiBook 14 Price, Availability:

The Redmi Note 8 is expected to be priced around CNY 999 in China just like its predecessor Redmi Note 7. The RedmiBook 14 Enhanced Edition price could start at CNY 6,999 and the availability of both the models are not known officially.
