Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is now preparing to launch Redmi Note 8, which will be the successor to the Redmi Note 7. Redmi Note 8 will come with many exciting features including two industry’s first features. The company already announced that its upcoming device, most probably Redmi Note 8, will feature 64MP camera and MediaTek G90 SoC. Redmi Brand Manager and Vice President of Xiaomi Group, Lu Weibing took to Weibo to announce some of the key features of the upcoming Note 8.
Lu Weibing posted a production video of the Redmi 64MP camera mobile, which is expected to be the Redmi Note 8. He said that the device went for mass production half a month ago and the stock will satisfy everyone. The video gives us a glimpse of the camera and the key features of the device.
The mobile will sport a quad-camera setup at the rear and they are arranged in a different fashion, unlike the previous Redmi devices. Three cameras are arranged vertically one below the other and the fourth camera is placed to the right side and LED flash is located to the left side of the camera setup. Looking at the rear side, it is understood that the device will not bear the mechanical pop-up camera in the front which means that there will be a dew-drop notch just like the Note 7 and Note 7 Pro.
Apart from this, Lu Weibing also said that the Redmi Note 8 will offer ‘clearer pictures’, ‘longer battery life’, ‘higher screen-to-body ratio’, and ‘feel better in hands’. Interestingly, Lu Weibing posted this on Weibo using the Redmi Note 8 smartphone. The device is expected to come with 5000mAh battery just like the Realme 5 and 5 Pro that are launching in India on August 20. Recently, alleged Redmi 8 with model number M1908C3IC appeared on TENAA with 5000mAh battery and 18W charger. This suggests that Redmi Note 8 will have similar or better battery specs.
With a bigger battery, 64MP camera, powerful processor (Helio G90 series SoC expected), the Redmi Note 8 for sure will be in a better position to compete with Realme 5 and 5 Pro.
