Redmi K20 and K20 Pro launched in India with pop-up selfie camera, 4000mAh battery: Price, Availability


Xiaomi’s spin-off brand Redmi today unveiled two K-series smartphones, K20 and K20 Pro in India at an event held in New Delhi. The two new smartphones are earlier unveiled in China in late May. The Chinese smartphone maker also unveiled a special Gold diamond edition of K20 Pro for a whopping price of 4.8 lakh. Both Redmi K20 and K20 Pro would be available for purchase in India starting July 22. The mid-range offering Redmi K20 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC will power its counterpart K20 Pro. Specifications and Features of Redmi K20 and  K20 Pro

Both Redmi K20 and K20 pro would flaunt a 6.39-inch Full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED display panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9%. Both the phones will also house an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Redmi K20 will be powered by Snapdragon 730 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. While Redmi K20 Pro will feature a Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Both K20 and K20 Pro will be available in three colour options: Carbon Black, Flame Red, and Glacier Blue.

Camera features: 

In terms of optics, Redmi K20 houses a triple rear camera set up featuring 48MP Sony IMX 582 sensor, a 13MP secondary sensor with a wide-angle lens and a tertiary 8MP sensor. For selfie lovers, both Redmi K20 and K20Pro features a 20MP pop-up camera at the front. The company claims that the pop-up camera would take less than a second to rise. Also, Xiaomi has tested the durability of the pop-up camera, and the company claims to last for 8 years without any glitch even if you take 100 selfies per day. 

Connectivity and Battery

Both Redmi K20 and K20 Pro supports an array of connectivity features that include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both devices do pack a massive 4000mAh batteries with fast charging support.  While Redmi K20 has 18W fast charging support, K20 Pro supports 27W fast charging.

Price in India and availability

The Redmi K20 price in India starts at Rs 21,999 for 6GB RAM+64GB storage variant. The other variant with 6GB RAM +128GB storage has been priced at Rs 23,999. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM+128GB storage variant of K20 Pro comes with a price tag of Rs 27,999 and other higher variant with 8GB RAM+256GB storage is priced at Rs 30,999. The first sale of both the devices would commence from July 22 and will be available for purchase on Flipkart, and Mi Home stores at 12 pm (noon) IST.
