The Redmi Go has two storage variants of 8GB and 16GB, but in India, the consumer can only buy the 8GB version. Xiaomi has now announced that they are going to bring a new variant to India with more storage and it could be the 16GB model.
Redmi has shared a photo on their Twitter account with the text “Jitna Jada Photos Tuna Jada Maze” which means to “More photos=more enjoyment”. Redmi has not mentioned the Redmi Go in the post, but the use of the hashtag #ApkiNayiDuniya, means your new world makes it clear that Redmi Go with more storage is going to come soon to India. It’s the same hashtag that Redmi had used to promote Redmi Go smartphone in the country.
The Redmi Go has processor Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB RAM. It has around a 5-inch HD display and supports Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition). The Indian variant of Redmi Go comes with a dedicated slot for micro SD card which allows storage expansion by up to 128GB.
The 8GB storage variant of the Redmi Go costs at INR 4,499 in India, so you can expect the 16GB variant can cost around INR 1,000 or INR 2,000 or more.
