Realme 1 and Realme U1 to receive Android Pie ColorOS 6 Update

Realme is a Shenzhen-based smartphone manufacturing company that has provided a number of budget devices in India. Among its various smartphone that has been launched previously, Realme 1 and Real U1 has started getting Android Pie-based ColorOS 6 update. These smartphones were launched back in 2018 in the month of May, originally with Android 8.1 OS and ColorOS 5.0 on top of that. Realme has previously released the ColorOS 6 beta update earlier this month.

According to the response that was made on Twitter following the queries of the users, Realme India Support states, ‘the stable update of ColorOS 6 along with Android Pie for Realme 1 and Realme U1 is in a staged rollout process and it will soon be reaching to all the devices.’ Both the devices had ColorOs 5.0 along with Android 8.1 Oreo.

The new update will bring about some changes for users. The smartphones will receive an app drawer to the ColorOS launcher, a new navigation gesture, May Android security patch, riding mode, and new notification icons in the status bar. In addition to that, the update also includes an updated UI for AI Board, new UI for the notification panel, along with a tweaked default theme. Along with that, it also comes with HAL3 support, Nightscape mode, Realme Community App, and Realme game Center.

To recall, Realme 1 has been one of the most popular devices from this company. Among its features, a 6-inch IPS LCD display is provided with a screen resolution is 1,080 x 2,160 pixels alongside 402 PPI pixel density. It is powered by an octa-core processor that is seated upon a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. 3GB RAM coupled with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU takes care of the multitasking.

On the other hand, the Realme U1 has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display. The screen resolution is 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and the pixel density is 409 PPI. It runs on an octa-core processor, which is based on a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. It has a 3GB RAM and a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for seamless multitasking.

Coming to the update, one can get over-the-air (OTA), which would be available to the users who have received notification prior to that. Manually, one can also check the update in their Settings menu. Generally, it is advised to download the update over Wi-Fi network.
