Over the course of the past few days, users of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE have been reporting bricked devices. This seems to happen after installing the latest OTA update that was released by the company.
There is no exact record of the number of devices affected by the same. Xiaomi has not released any official information about this issue. Hence, there is no knowledge about how this problem should be dealt with. It is recommended that the update should be avoided for now.
The first incident was reported four days back, on Xiaomi’s community forum.
The update was launched for the European market and is branded as the MIUI 10.3.1.0 to EEA. Reports have led to speculation that the phones purchased from Xiaomi’s official retailers in Europe are the only devices that have been affected. Furthermore, grey import handsets with flashed global ROM have not been affected by this.
