OPPO Vice President Shen Yiren Brian took to Weibo to announce the world’s first so-called Waterfall Screen smartphone. The smartphone has a very high screen-to-body ratio and curvature of up to 88-degrees. From the picture shared by Brian, it can be seen that the Waterfall Screen phone is compared with the OPPO Find X, which has a screen-to-body ratio of 96.3%. The new device has a large curvature at the left and right sides and looked slimmer than the Find Y smartphone. By all these, it is speculated that the new smartphone will launch as the successor to the Find X which will be called Find X2 or Find Y.
The Waterfall Screen phone from OPPO sports a slimmer body with a very high screen-to-body ratio (measurements not officially released) and narrow bezels at the top and bottom of the device. The curvature of up to 88-degrees at the corners is not present on any other smartphone as on today.
OPPO has recently filed Trademarks at agencies for the Find Y and Find Z names. Going by this, we can expect OPPO to bring this smartphone under either of these two series or stick to Find X and launch as Find X2. The Waterfall Screen could become industry standard while developing smartphones shortly.
The popular leaksters also speculate on Weibo that the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 series will adopt the Waterfall Screen design and at least 5 flagship smartphones will be launched by the second half of 2020 with this design.
