Xiaomi India MD, Manu Kumar Jain has confirmed that Redmi K20 series smartphones won’t feature ads. The series was launched recently in India and runs POCO Launcher based on Android Pie, which has now been refined to deliver a feature-rich skin. Redmi seems to follow the footsteps of POCO that had also removed advertisement in the MIUI ROM on the POCO F1.
Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to announce the latest ads restricted features via an open letter to fans. The Twitter post read, “An open letter to all our Mi fans for #RedmiK20 & #RedmiK20 Pro.” In addition to this, he has also reckoned gratitude towards the “unconditional love and support” from the fans.
Before this, the company had mentioned that it would reduce the number of ads displayed on MIUI-powered smartphones. As for the other devices, the company is working towards removing ads from several apps. For the upcoming MIUI, a noticeable reduction in the number of advertisements is likely to follow in the coming days.
Redmi K20 series has been considered “feature-rich value flagship” one can find in its range, and has been claimed to miss almost nothing. It has also been termed as one of the most affordable Android flagships in the market that did not cut anything in terms of design or performance corner.
