Motorola’s upcoming Razr 2019 is one of the most anticipated smartphones, especially for its integral folding mechanism. Recently, a series of pictures have been leaked, which suggests that the device will feature a dual screen foldable display. The folding mechanism is much likely to follow a vertical flip pattern rather than the open-book design that we have seen in the Samsung Galaxy Fold. There is a small second display as well. Apart from that, the leak also shows in-box contents like charger adapter, a charging cable, a screen protector, a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, which indicates there will be no separate audio jack.
According to the series of pictures that have been posted by Slashleaks on Twitter, the smartphone features a flip-open pattern to reveal the display inside. On the outside of the smartphone, a camera lens can be seen. Once the device is flip-opened, a huge bulky chin is found at the bottom. The display inside shows a wide notch that houses the front camera and other sensors. The secondary small display is present but it is unsure whether it allows users to scroll down. However, the function of that screen would be restricted to only allow users to interact with Moto Display, Moto Actions and Moto Camera.
Considering the response to the leak of the iconic Moto Razr, it seems that the company has a fine opportunity to enter the foldable smartphone space in the market, which was expected to be filled by either Samsung or Huawei. With Samsung facing issues for its Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s unsure launch date for the Mate X, there is an eager room for Moto to steal the thunder. The smartphone, if launched anytime sooner could be a huge hit since consumers waiting for the folding device would make no delay to grab it.
The Moto Razr, on its specs front, will reportedly feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset that is paired with 6GB RAM. The smartphone will be housing internal memory of 128GB. For display, it will be featuring a 6.2-inch folding screen with a resolution of 876 x 2,142 pixels. A 2,730mAh battery will power the device. The handset has already received Bluetooth certification a few days ago.
According to the reports in XDA Developers, the development of the folding smartphone has already been confirmed and it will not offer a complete Android experience, unlike Galaxy Fold. The company has also been testing feature like access to the Moto Display to show pulsing notifications along with a tool that would control media from the second display.
However, the aforementioned features are not yet officially confirmed. The Lenovo owned company did not announce any date as well for the launch of the device. As per rumours, the smartphone was speculated to be unveiled mid-year but there is no news regarding the same.
