Reports are coming that Motorola is prepping up to launch a new premium smartphone in India. Besides, the company also seems to be ready to come up with its entry-level E series smartphones. Last month, there was a report about Moto 6 in the making, and now it’s time for its Plus variant. Moto E6 Plus has been spotted on the Geekbench listing yesterday and a lot of its features just came to light. The database has revealed that Moto E6 Plus is based on a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC and it will have Android v9.0 (Pie) out-of-the-box.
Geekbench, the cross-platform software benchmark has its own scoring system by which it defines the performance of the processor in a smartphone. As per the report published by NashvilleChatter, Geekbench has listed a scorecard for the Moto E6 Plus in both the category – Single-Core and Multi-Core. The device scores 829 points in the single-core division and 3,687 points in the multi-core tests. Apart from the scorecard, the listing has also shown some of its specifications such as the Chipset, RAM and Android version.
Moto E6 Plus will have an ‘ARM MT6762V/WB’ processor, which is commonly known as the Helio P22 SoC. The chipset is also found in smartphones like Realme C2 and Redmi 6. It is embedded with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores and for the graphics part, there is an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The processor has the clock speed of 2.0GHz and been manufactured using TSMC’s 12nm fabrication process. The processor will be armed with a 2GB RAM and it can be expected that there will be a higher RAM version once it launches. Other than these, as per the Geekbench database, Moto E6 Plus will run on Android v9.0 (Pie), which also seems appropriate as per the trend in the market.
On the other hand, Moto E6, the base variant of the series, is based on a Snapdragon 430 SoC and as per the reports, there is a possibility of its US launch via carriers. Alongside, the company might also launch E6 Plus and it is expected to arrive outside the US, at least the presence of MediaTek chip hints so.
As of now, no pricing details or nothing have been revealed but it can be assumed that Moto E6 Plus will be priced under Rs. 10,000 if the company thinks this device to be relevant in the Indian market. Meanwhile, there is a launch event on June 20 in India, where Motorola One Division might have the possibility to be wrapped off since it has been recently launched in Brazil. Or, there could be another Moto device, Moto Z4, which comes with the Moto Mods and features a 48MP camera.
As the E5 series smartphones were unveiled in April last year, it can be also assumed that the Moto E6 series will be launched very soon in India.
