Mi MIX Alpha, Mi 9 Pro launch

Update: Lei Jun, Founder, and CEO of Xiaomi mobiles, officially revealed that the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha is not a foldable phone. With this statement from Xiaomi, we can confirm that the device comes with a waterfall display just like the Vivo NEX 3, but with more pronounced edges than the NEX 3. Popular tipster, Ice Universe calls it as Super Curved Screen.

Xiaomi has scheduled the launch of two 5G smartphones, 8KTV and MIUI 11 in China for September 24. The two 5G mobiles include Mi 9 Pro and MIX Alpha. The latter device has been just revealed by Xiaomi through the official Weibo post. The company teased the device with a poster that reveals key features. By looking at the poster, it is evident that the Mi MIX Alpha could be the foldable phone from Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha Details:

The teaser poster shared by Xiaomi reveals a huge curvature that extends to the other side of the device. We expect this huge curvature is desirable for a foldable phone and the books (which are foldable objects) placed beside the device adds weight to our opinion. And one last thing that makes us believe this is a foldable phone is the name Alpha (α), which signifies folding pattern.

Apart from this, Xiaomi says that the device will support the 5G network. Early this month, Xiaomi had applied a trademark application for the name Xiaomi MIX ALPHA in China. The Xiaomi Mi Alpha is expected to sport a Snapdragon 855+ chipset.

Xiaomi’s foldable phone was already leaked online, revealing its design and key features. The other foldable phones available in the market include Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X. Let’s wait till September 24, to know more details regarding the Mi MIX Alpha, Mi 9 Pro 5G, MIUI 11, Mi 8K TV.
