Xiaomi is launching its next Android One smartphone in India on August 21. The device will go on sale exclusively via Amazon and Mi online store. Ahead of the launch, the Mi A3 Android One smartphone went on sale on Amazon, revealing the price of the two memory variants that are launching in India. According to the e-commerce store, the Mi A3 4GB/64GB variant is priced at Rs 14,998 and the 6GB/128GB is priced at Rs 17,498. It is not known at the moment whether they are selling price or MRP. Realme announced that its Realme 5, which comes with the same processor will be priced under Rs 10,000 in India.
The Mi A3 is equipped with Snapdragon 665 processor and runs Android 9 Pie that is based on Google’s stock Android program. The device sports a 6.088-inch OLED display with a waterdrop notch that bears a 32MP camera. At the rear, there is a triple camera setup that is comprised of 48MP primary sensor, 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The device is powered by a 4030mAh battery and comes with a 10W charger, but the phone supports 18W fast charging technology. Globally, this is the first device to sport a Snapdragon 665 chipset. In India, it is Realme 5 that is launching first with the chipset.
Xiaomi announced that the Mi A3 will launch on August 21, a day after when Realme 5 and 5 Pro launches in India. We need to wait for another one day to find how Mi A3 and Realme 5 will face each other with respect to pricing and specifications.
