LG G8X Trademarked at EUIPO, Expected to Launch at IFA 2019

LG is expected to launch the LG G8X at the IFA 2019 event that is scheduled to be held in September. LG G8X will be the flagship device from the company along with the dual-screen V60 ThinQ. The renders of the G8X surfaced on the web, revealing the design and features. Confirming this, LG has registered the G8X trademark at the EUIPO office. The trademark filing suggests that the G8X launch is confirmed and not too far.


According to the filing found at EUIPO, the trademark has been filed under class number 9, which belongs to Smartphones, Television receivers, Monitor for computers, etc. Earlier it was revealed that LG G8X could be launched as V50s ThinQ in South Korea. Kwon Bong-seok, the President of the Mobile Communications Division at LG Electronics, stated that G-series will be offered with 4G support and the V-series would arrive with 5G feature.

To recap, the renders of the LG G8X were leaked by the Indian publication, PriceBaba in collaboration with OnLeaks. The leaked renders suggest that the device will bear a waterdrop notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor at the front. The device is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC and 6GB of RAM. At the rear, two cameras are horizontally stacked and an LED flash.
