The application previously known as Jio4GVoice has now been renamed as the JioCall app. Unlike other Jio apps, Jio4GVoice allowed users to call and message. Now, after the new update, it seems the name is not the only thing that has changed in the application.
The new version of the app enables voice and video calls directly using your smartphone for a fixed-line number. To do so, the user must configure their fixed-line number using the application. There will be a fixed profile so that the users can make or receive calls
The JioCall app will also carry on all the features of the Jio4GvVoice and allow users with the non-4G device or a device connected to Jio-Fi to make HD call.
Another noteworthy feature that has been added is Rich Communication Services (RCS).
RCS will enable advanced features like rich calls, chat and group chat, location share, stickers as well as an in-call file share. Note that for these features a Jio SIM is a must.
Though it hasn’t been confirmed when Reliance Jio will be rolling out its fixed-line services, some reports suggest that a few Gigafiber subscribers have received landline connection.
We can guess that the fixed-line services will be available when Jio Gigafiber officially launches. Although it was announced quite some time back, it is still being tested.
