Airtel has launched Airtel Xstream Fibre that offers data speed of 1 Gbps for Rs 3,999 per month. The Broadband plan bundles with unlimited local landline calls to any network and Airtel Thanks Benefits that offers one year of free Amazon Prime subscription, three months of Netflix, one month Zee 5 subscription and Airtel Xstream app subscription. With this offering, Airtel Joins the elite bandwagon of broadband operators in India offering 1 Gbps speed in India. The operators include ACT Fibernet, ISPs like Spectra, NetPlus, and JioFiber.
ACT Fibernet holds the distinction of being the first operator in the country to introduce 1Gbps speed. Speaking on the occasion of the launch of Airtel Xstream Fiber, Sameer Batra, CEO-Airtel Broadband highlighted the increased usage of 4K HD content, IoT and high-end online gaming. He said that the new plan allows multiple users and devices to stay connected at the same time.
Airtel Xstream Fiber broadband plan: Details and Benefits
As mentioned above, the Airtel Xstream Fiber broadband plan offers a 1 Gbps broadband plan for Rs 3,999 and one-month validity. The plan would be live on 12 September and will be available in various cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Mumbai, Ghaziabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. However, there is no mention of the data cap of the plan and it is yet to be announced by Airtel. If you take a look at other plans, Airtel offers an unlimited Broadband plan of 100Mbps priced at Rs 1,999 and comes with a data cap of 3.3TB per month. The other higher plan is Rs 1,599 Broadband plan that offers speeds up to 300 Mbps in select circles.
How Airtel fares as compared to its rival operators?
Recently Mukesh-Ambani led Reliance Jio announced the commercial launch of Jio Fiber with plans starting from Rs 699. The telecom operator has launched various plans such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond with varying data benefits and price ranges. JioFiber has a similarly priced plan of Rs 3,999 that offers 1 Gbps broadband speeds with a data cap of 2.5TB per month. Among the available broadband operators, Spectra offers the cheapest 1Gbps broadband plan for Rs 1,599.
