Huawei launched the Mate 20X 5G in October 2018 alongside the Mate 20, the Mate 20 Pro, the Porsche Design Mate 20 RS and the Mate 20X. The 5G variant of the Mate 20X is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2019. Even before the Mate 20X 5G phone is out for the public, there had been few leaks online revealing the render, retail box.
Now, in a fresh round of leak, the Mate 20X 5G is completely shown off in a hands-on video exposing all the key specifications and design. In the video, we can see the person holding the Mate 20X 5G variant and the Mate 20X 4G side by side. Though there are no differences between Mate 20X 5G and Mate 20X in the design department except for the 5G logo in the back, considerable differences do exist in the hardware pocket.
According to the leaked video, the Mate 20X 5G comes with a 4200 mAh battery with support for 40W charging, unlike the Mate 20X 4G variant which is supplied with a 22W charging. Like its sibling, the Mate 20X 5G is also powered by Kirin 980 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone is equipped with Balong 5000 5G modem, which is also packed in the recently announced Mate X Foldable phone.
As for the pricing and availability, the Mate 20X 5G will cost a bit higher than the 4G variant and is expected to become available in H2 2019.
