Huawei confirms to launch the Nova 5 series on June 21; pre-order starts

Chinese telecommunication giant, Huawei is ready to unveil the Nova 5 series smartphones at an event in China on June 21. The company has released a teaser video of the device, which shows that it will come in a variety of bright colors. The series is composed of three smartphones that include Nova 5i, Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro.

Huawei confirmed the launch date last month. Coming to the phones, the entire lineup is covered in mystery. A fresh leak highlighted that the Kirin 710 SoC will power the Huawei Nova 5i, Nova 5 will feature the Kirin 810 SoC, while the Nova 5 pro will engulf the power from the Kirin 980 SoC.

Some of the specifications of Huawei Nova 5i were recently spotted on TENAA database. As per the database, the phone is equipped with a 6.4-inch full HD+ (1080 x 2310 pixels) display and will come with the Kirin 710 SoC and 8GB of RAM. The device is likely to get triple cameras stacked in line and probably a TOF sensor or a macro lens along with the primary camera. The front camera holds a 24 MP sensor.

Accurate information about the price and specifications for the Huawei Nova 5 Pro is not available right now. This phone is mentioned in the list on JingDong Mall, which states that this device will be available in Dilemma Forest, Midsummer Purple, Bright Black, and Coral Orange color options. The device is displayed with a quad-camera setup and a drop-notch up-front. The listing states that there are two versions available for this phone – 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. As there is no fingerprint sensor found in the backside of the phone, it might also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. There is no word regarding the final price, but you can still pre-order this device from JingDong Mall.

The Huawei Nova 5 will come with a massive 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2310 pixels and a pixel density of 403 PPI. It will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin octa-core processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. In the camera department, the smartphone might have 48 MP + 12 MP + 2 MP triple rear cameras along with a TOF sensor or macro lens on the side and the front camera will hold a 24 MP sensor. A 3500mAh battery is rumored to fuel up the Huawei Nova 5 with the support for fast charging.

Some images that were leaked from Slashleaks contributor reveal that the rear panel of the Huawei Nova 5 will feature a gradient finish. Not much information is currently available to us. We will get to know more about the Huawei nova 5 series at the launch event in China on June 21.

Huawei is one of the world’s biggest smartphone maker and has recently got the hammer from the US government, which resulted in companies like Google and ARM suspending operations with Huawei. Still, Huawei has no plans to slow down.
