Honor is all set to launch the Smart Screen TV on August 10 in China. Ahead of the launch at Huawei Developer Conference 2019 (HDC 2019), the Smart Screen TV has achieved 100,000 preorders. Now, a poster that got leaked on Weibo suggests that the Honor Smart Screen TV will compete with the likes of Sony and Samsung in China.
The poster compares the specifications and pricing of TVs of all the three brands – Sony, Samsung, and Honor. Sony’s 9500G TV is powered by Android OS, while the Samsung Q70 is loaded with self-developed Tizen OS. All the three TVs flaunt the 55-inch 4K HDR screen. Both Sony and Samsung TVs retail at CNY 7,999. Honor is expected to set a very competitive price for its Smart Screen TV in China. In terms of configuration, the Honor Smart Screen TV is equipped with a HiSilicon Hongjun 818 processor and is loaded with HongMeng OS. These details were already confirmed by Honor Boss George Zhao.
Another leak that surfaced on Weibo shows of the Honor Smart Screen TV in full glory. The TV will have a popup camera that is located at the top of the device. The tipster further claims that the TV will have a 55-inch HDR screen and sports a resolution of 3840*2160, be equipped with a Hongjun 818 chip + independent NPU, AI popup camera and YOYO assistant (a voice assistant). As far as the Hongjun 818 chip is concerned, the chip supports 8K@30Hz video playback and response time is just 1.3 seconds to playback an 4K video.
Another leak on Weibo shows off the retail packaging of the Smart Screen TV. Honor/Huawei will unveil the Smart Screen TV along with the Hongjun 818 Chip and HongMeng OS at the Huawei Developer Conference 2019 (HDC 2019) in China on August 10.
