Honor 30 Officially Confirmed to Sport Kirin 985 SoC, 5G Support Confirmed for All Three Models

Honor 30 series which is expected to include the Honor 30 Pro, Honor 30 and Honor 30 Lite is launching in China on April 15. They expected to sport some exciting features that make the series unique. As the successors to the Honor 20 series, the Honor 30 series will come with upgraded design, unique camera features and finally the 5G connectivity. Today, the confirmation has come from Honor itself that the Honor 30 series will debut with the new Kirin 985 chipset. Further more, the brand also confirmed Honor 30 series is also confirmed to include three different 5G chipsets, which means there are three models – Honor 30 Pro, Honor 30 and Honor 30 Lite (expected).

The confirmation from the company comes when renowned Chinese publication IT Home had put a Weibo post, tipping the key details of the Honor 30 series. IT Home says Honor 30 series include three chipsets – Kirin 990, Kirin 985 and Kirin 820 chipsets which come with 5G modem integrated. So, we can expect that the Honor 30 Pro will equip Kirin 990 SoC, Honor 30 with Kirin 985 SoC and finally the Honor 30 Lite (expected name) will sport Kirin 820 SoC.

Previously, the renders of the Honor 30 Pro were officially revealed by Honor President during an official live broadcast. The images reveal a periscope matrix camera setup and the back design. The TENAA certification of the Honor 30 and 30 Pro tipped us key specifications of the device. The Honor 30 with model numbers EBG-AN00 and EBG-TN00 will have a 40MP camera on the back and the Honor 30 Pro with model number EBG-AN10 sports a 50MP camera. Both the devices sports 6.57-inch OLED display and equip 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage.
