Flipkart is working on a video streaming service to take on Amazon’s Prime Video and Netflix in India. It was reported last week that Flipkart will rollout its video streaming service by Diwali festival. Now, it looks like Flipkart has already started testing the service with a few users. We are glad to reveal that we are among the very few users to whom Flipkart has rolled out the ‘Flick’ videos section on the app. We also found that Flipkart has named the video service as ‘Flick’ (revealed from the page URL). The URL might work only for select users, and you can try your luck. The service is and will be available free of cost for Flipkart First users.
Flipkart ‘Flick’: Here’re the Features, Movie, TV Show Titles Offered
‘Flick’ video streaming service, right now, has a very few movie titles and TV shows. Flipkart has partnered with ‘Voot’ for showing up the video content. The e-commerce giant has added movie and TV show titles from all major India languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, etc. There are Talk Shows, Reality Shows, and many others that users can enjoy. Here are the exclusive screenshots and real-life images of the ‘Flick’ videos of Flipkart.
Unfortunately, there is no download option available for any of the vides. As it is currently under testing, Flipkart might add the download option later based on the user feedback. Flipkart will likely add more videos from more streaming service apps like Alt Balaji, Sony LIV, Zee5, etc soon. We have added several screenshots of the Flick video section that give a glimpse of all the video services offered by Flipkart.
Flipkart ‘Ideas’: An Idea inspired by Amazon Spark
Alongside ‘Flick’, Flipkart has also launched the ‘Ideas’ section that seems to be made with inspiration from Amazon Spark section on Amazon India. The ‘Ideas’ section on Flipkart will allow users to share their ideas with Flipkart and is more like a social media platform.
‘Flick’ and ‘Ideas’ from Flipkart is expected to roll out by Diwali this year after vigorous testing with lucky users like us. We will soon share our experience with ‘Flick’ and ‘Ideas’ after using them for a few days. After Walmart picking up the majority of stake in Flipkart India, the e-commerce giant is very much aggressive in offering services to users. The company had revamped Flipkart First service to add more premium offerings to the section. Now, with ‘Flick’ video streaming service, Flipkart will have strong arms to take on Amazon India.
