As of now, the facility is available only in Mumbai and would be extended to other cities in India in the near future. Practo has partnered with Thyrocare for facilitating the online COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 detection test. They have been authorised by the government of India and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The test costs Rs 4,500 and can be booked online via Practo as well as Thyrocare websites. 

How to Book COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 Detection Test Via Practo?

 If you are looking to book COVID-19 test online, then you must fulfil the following requirements:

  • You can book the COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 Detection Test on Practo at  or and  
  • Requires a valid doctor’s prescription form and duly filled form 44, signed by the qualified physician.
  • We need to produce a photo ID card at the time of testing.

Certified phlebotomist wearing a single-use bio-hazard suit from I2H would collect the swab samples from the patient’s homes. Practo made it clear that swab sample collection would be in line with the ICMR guidelines. The samples would be collected in a viral transport medium (VTM) and will be transported to the Thyrocare laboratory that is selected for COVID-19 testing. The results of the COVID-19 testing will then be made available by the concerned lab on the Practo website within 24-48 hours of the sample collection.
