The state-led telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has stitched in a strategic partnership with the PayTM app and launched the Smart Wi-Fi Onboarding service to enable easy access to its Wi-Fi hotspots. In general, the users are reluctant to offering their bank details to untrusted sources for purchasing a Wi-Fi package for using Wi-Fi hotspots. Now, with this partnership, users no longer need to provide their bank details and can make the transaction via the PayTM app similar to normal recharge. BSNL boasts a good enough number of 30,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country, wherein the customers can pay a small amount of money for accessing data over its network.

BSNL off late has been in the mix of things with many consumer-centric moves such as new launches, validity extensions, new revisions, and new services. The PayTM-BSNL smart Wi-Fi Onboarding service was launched by PK Purwar, CMD, BSNL, at a press conference in New Delhi. The new service would make it easier for the users to log into public Wi-Fi hotspots. The PayTM BSNL Wi-Fi onboarding service would also eliminate the security concerns surrounding the purchase transaction of Wi-Fi hotspot plans in the conventional approach for using public Wi-Fi. BSNL SIM card users can now avail the service to connect to public Wi-Fi hotspots.

PayTM has been the go-to option for many users for recharging their mobile numbers. The payment transaction platform also rewards its customers by offering cashback on recharges.
