Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro has been launched at an event in China. The new mobile succeeds Black Shark 2 which was launched in India in March 2019. The Black Shark 2 Pro holds the distinction of being only the second smartphone after ASUS ROG Phone 2 to sport Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC. The new device ships with an upgrade in design, and equipped with DC Dimming 2.0 which helps save more power than Black Shark 2. Also, the new mobile sports similar features like Black Shark 2, that include Liquid Cooling Technology, True View display, and optional gaming accessories. The smartphone is available in two RAM and memory variants: 12GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage options. The phone will go on sale in China starting August 2. Specifications and Features of Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro
The Black Shark 2 Pro flaunts a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels resolution. It comes with a True View Display support with a high refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 403ppi. The Black Shark 2 Pro comes in five colour options such as Flamingo (Orange Blast), Bolt (Ming Black), Freezing Blade (Grey Ice Crystal), Myth Ray (Purple Streamer), and Racing (Blue). The new smartphone comes with an improved grip, and there are also two RGB LED lights present on either side of the Black Shark logo.
Black Shark 2 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC paired with an Adreno 640 GPU and 12GB RAM. The smartphone features an upgraded DC Dimming 2.0 support, Liquid Cooling 3.0+ that includes liquid cooling plate and liquid-cooled tube which covers all the heat-generating components of the CPU. The cooling technology would be 20 times more efficient in heat dissipation and brings down the core temperature by up to 14-degree Celsius.
For the optics, the new Black Shark 2 Pro sports a dual rear camera set up with a 48MP sensor featuring an f/1.75 lens and 12MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 lens. The device sports an impressive 20MP rear camera with support for 2x optical zoom. A 4000mAh battery fuels the smartphone and it runs Android 9 Pie operating system. The mobile also comes with 27W fast charging support. As for the connectivity options, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro supports 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, A-GPS with GLONASS, and USB Type-C.
Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro is available in two variants. The 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs 30,000) in China. The other variant, i.e., 12GB RAM +256GB storage costs CNY 3,499, which in Indian rupees is Rs 35,000. The smartphone is up for pre-order on official Black Shark site and will go on sale from August 2.
