Today, a new Xiaomi smartphone with model numbers M1906G7E and M1906G7T appeared on 3C certification website. The models come with support for 18W fast charging, which hints that they could be mid-range devices from Xiaomi. The devices were also spotted on EEC, Russia a few days ago.
Recently, Vice President of Xiaomi Group and the General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing stated that the company is working on a 64MP camera phone. Manu Kumar Jai, CEO of Xiaomi India took to Twitter to say that the Redmi 64MP camera phone will be launching soon. Going by all these official news, we can expect that the model numbers M1906G7E and M1906G7T will supposedly belong to the upcoming Redmi Note 8 or its Pro variant.
In addition to having a 64MP camera, the device may also equip the latest Helio G90T processor that MediaTek unveiled a few weeks ago in China. AnTuTu revealed the performance score of the Helio G90 chipset, where it scored 222,282 which is higher than the Snapdragon 730 chipset. The Mi 9T or Redmi K20 which has Snapdragon 730 SoC scored just 211,915 points on AnTuTu. The Helio G90T chipset is manufactured using 12nm FinFET process technology from TSMC.
Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro are expected to launch in the month of September in China and India launch could follow. There is no word officially from the company about the pricing, but as Xiaomi is known to set disruptive pricing for its smartphones, we expect the price to start at around Rs 15,000 in the Indian market.
