Xiaomi first revealed its latest device, Xiaomi Mi 6 mobile phone in China and at that time it was introduced in two different variant. Besides the standard variant, Xiaomi also declared a ceramic edition of the smartphone, which was supposed to go on a sale somewhere around May 10, but it could not happen as per the schedule due to some production issues with the materials used.
Finally the decision to make the smartphone go on a sale is finalized. The edition with 6GB RAM and 18-karat gold rims around the dual rear cameras is first time going to be on a sale in China, which will happen today. The smartphone is priced at CNY 2,999(approximately $435/Rs. 28,000), the ceramic edition will be exclusively on Xiaomi Mall. As per the company, the unique selling point of the smartphone are its latest Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB of RAM, two 12-megapixel rear sensors and stunning ceramic glass body.
Talking about the specifications, just like the original standard model of Xiaomi Mi 6, the Ceramic edition of the smartphone sports a 5.15- inch Full HD display with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Xiaomi Mi 6 has also incorporated blue light filter to filter blue light emission to diminish the strain to your eyes and ease them.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 boasts four -sided 3D curved glass design on the front and back with high lustre stainless steel frame in between. The device is powered by a 64 bit Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz (10nm process technology) paired with Adreno 540 GPU to handle the graphics. Xiaomi Mi 6 packs 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB/ 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with company’s own MIUI 8 custom skin running on top of the device. It’s a splash resistant mobile and features a fingerprint scanner for biometric security, which embedded just under the display glass cover.
Narrowing down to camera, Xiaomi Mi 6 has a dual rear camera setup with two 12- megapixel sensors. First camera features a 12-megapixel sensor with wide angle lens and 4-axis Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), whereas other camera comes with a 12-megapixel with telephoto lens for 2x lossless zoom. It has an 8- megapixel front facing shooter for video calling and capturing selfies.
Talking about the connectivity options, this smartphone has 2.2 dual WiFi technology which allows for better and wider connectivity. Other connectivity options include dual-SIM with dual-standby, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, Stereo speakers, and a USB-Type C port for superfast charging and data transfer. Sensors include Fingerprint (front-mounted), Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, and Proximity sensor. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is backed by non-removable 3350mAh Li-Po battery.
