Sony will be announcing its first ever bezel-less smartphone at the IFA 2017, which is scheduled to be held in early September in Berlin.
As per the post shared on social media platform Weibo, the upcoming Sony’s bezel-less smartphone will have a 6-inch screen and an aspect ratio of 18:9, which is similar to the models of Galaxy S8 and LG G6 models. Reports also suggest that Sony would be using Japan Display Inc’s (JDI), which is a huge corporation of the display division of Toshiba, Hitachi and Sony, new ‘Full Active LCD’ display technology to feature a bezel-less design.
JDI had also confirmed that it has started mass production of its Full Active QHD display. If the revealed information is true, then Sony would be the first tech giant among the biggies of the same industry to use the technology in its next generation smartphone.
Sony has not yet confirmed the news on its upcoming mobile or on featuring a bezel-less display.
